Open Question: are these feelings normal?

4 October 2008, 11:42 pm

my husband works full time and goes to school full time so he is always very busy. today i saw him for 30 minutes this am before he had to get to work then he calls me and tells me he and 2 of his work buddies are going to get some drinks after work real quick. his friends wife was having a sex and the city party so it was to kill time so his friend could avoid that. he assured me it would be quick. well. its 1.24 am and he isnt home. he has been at work from 9am-9pm and then out with the guys. he knows when he works 12's and i'm here during the day i really enjoy spending time with him once he's off, he also knew i wasn't too thrilled about him going out tonight but he went *which is fine i know he needs guy time* but said it would be quick, which it hasn't been. i just spoke to him and told him i was upset and felt kind of neglected today, and mentioned he knew how i felt about his 12's etc.. and said maybe he could call me if it was turning into a late night instead of me being up worried. he said he would but thought i was making a big deal out of it. i don't understand how he can be so insensitive when he says itll be an early night to not at least call me and let me know so i dont worry or wake up without him in the bed and call him worried. he says 364 days a year he shows me how much he loves me and i can't give him this one time etc..am i really being that unreasonable to ask for him to call me if it's going to be later? or to even keep his word if he says it will be an early night. is that so bad of me? and why can't he seem to see that its insensitive and inconsiderate to me to be gone from 9am to probably 2am *he's not home yet and most bars around here shut down at 2. so hell probably be back around 230am* and that i just want to spend some time with my husband everyday. thank you guys for your answers. i neglected to mention i work and am in nursing school. we just tend to have opposite schedules *annoying!* i'm seeing a lot of ask him to call you answers. thank you all!!!... read more
